Therapy for Emerging Adults to Overcome Substance Abuse, Mental Health, or Relational Struggles
I help emerging adults overcome substance abuse, mental health, or relational struggles so they can thrive in adulthood and beyond.
Engaging in therapy and stepping into vulnerability takes courage and inner strength. I believe strongly in the value of the therapeutic relationship. I harbor a space for individuals to feel heard, accepted, and secure. I create a space where young adults and adults feel safe, empowered, and supported. All humans deserve a safe and nonjudgmental environment to walk through fear and negative cognitions into personal growth.
When providing support to individuals it is imperative to be attentive to both the mind and body. I support my clients in exploring their emotions, challenging their thinking, and manifesting the life that they want to be in. I partner with individuals to facilitate their journey in increasing their self-esteem, confidence, and developing healthy coping mechanisms so they are able to walk through and overcome any challenges life presents.
“I work collaboratively with individuals to help them gain awareness, increase acceptance, explore emotions, and grow.”
TYPES OF THERAPY
PSYCHOTHERAPY
I specialize in working with individuals ages 16-40 who are experiencing struggles with substance use, codependency, and depression and anxiety. I also work with young adults launching into adulthood. I facilitate individuals in processing challenging emotions, developing healthy coping tools, implementing a self-care plan, and creating sustainable change.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Substances are often used as a way to self-medicate and cope with traumas or mental health symptoms. I support individuals of all ages struggling with substance abuse by providing them with psychoeducation on addiction and helping them to gain awareness of the cycle. We then uncover the source of the abuse and work to develop alternative healthy coping strategies. Gaining knowledge and insight while healing wounds empowers individuals to break the addictive cycle and step into the best version of themselves.
EMERGING ADULTS
Launching into adulthood is a challenging and exciting life transition that can feel daunting and thrilling. I partner with young adults to identify their fears and move through obstacles that hinder this process. At the start of therapy, individuals set short term and long term goals. We then create a plan of action towards reaching these goals to gain empowerment and increase autonomy.
RELATIONAL STRUGGLES
Have you ever taken someone else’s temperature to be able to determine your own? Do you feel like you are constantly giving to others and not having your own needs met? Do you struggle with making decisions and not knowing what YOU want? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be struggling with codependency. I support individuals in learning to prioritize themselves, set boundaries, and move through the discomfort of disappointing others to honor their own needs.
SUPPORT GROUP
I facilitate a biweekly virtual support group for family members and friends that have a loved one struggling with mental health and/or addiction. Family members are encouraged to participate in their own self-care and therapeutic support, working alongside their loved ones they worry so much about. For additional information or to participate in this group, please contact me.
